Love & Friendship

Date

I'm late, I'm late
For a very romantic date
No time to fix make-up, sit down
I'm late, I'm late, I'm late, I'm late
And when I change
I have to rearrange
Eye shadow, jewellery and shoes
I'm late, I'm late, I'm late
I'm happy then I'm not not not
There's weight that I should lose
I'm wearing all I've got got got
I wish that I could choose
And now I'm overdue
Not ravishing on cue
No time to fix make-up, sit down
I'm late, I'm late, I'm late

Anybody There?

Empty voices floating on the air
Is anybody there?
Train so crowded crushing all I wear
Is anybody there?
Bustling pavement trying not to stare
Is anybody there?
Rock musicians telling me they care
Is anybody there?
Rain and cold wind playing with my hair
Is anybody there?
Sweetly smiling beautiful and bare
Is anybody there?
It's you

Modern Love

Tinker, tailor, soldier, sailor
Which profession would she favour?
Now, if young men want to please
They need rich folks and two degrees
And since both partners have to work
They neither want to choose a jerk
Better, now, to pick a sinner
Than to pick a bad breadwinner
For if they stray to others' beds
Misbehaving when you're wed
Divorce is not a pleasant sport
But at least you'll get support
So do not fall in love in vain
But choose for most financial gain

PMT

Speak to me my darling
Were the words my husband said
When all I really wanted
Was to bop him on the head

What's the matter darling?
He persisted in his course
When I wanted just to floor him
With unreasonable force

Come lie here my darling
So - now he was changing tack
When I came and lay, he started
To massage my aching back

How was that my darling?
But I did not say a peep
For with all my tension gone I had
Just fallen fast asleep

Comforting a Man Friend

Need a shoulder, a coffee, a listener
Ask me
Want a name with four letters to christen her
Here's three
Have to tell someone how much you're missing her
Feel free
Like to find how much better I kiss'n her
You'll see

Valentine

OK, so it's embarrassing
I'll try to keep it brief
But I have to say I love you
While I still have my own teeth
To take the time to smile at you
While I can still see clear
Maybe whispering sweet nothings
While there's just a chance you'll hear
For we're neither getting younger
Built for comfort, not for speed
But in years that are to come, my love
You'll still be what I need
